Crook Peak Night Hike

The 7th Scout Troop started their night hike from Pavey House HQ on 21st October 2016 at 7:30pm. We travelled in convoy by car to Crooks Peak. We got prepared with our coats and maps and then headed off on the hike. After about 50 yards Ted said “can we have our packed lunch yet?” and Silver said “NO!”.

We walked about 3 miles to Crook Peak and had to use torches because it was pitch black. When we arrived at Crook Peak we climbed down the mini cliff, then we had our packed lunch. At midnight Ollie, Rufus and Isaac were invested as Scouts at the peak. Sam and Malo battled the wind to hold the flag.

After this we want to the trig point at Wavering Down and using the GPS we walked the ridge back to the cars. In total we hiked about 7 miles.

We got back to HQ about 2am, slept overnight and had a big fry up for breakfast the next day! Our parents collected us about 9:30am.

A great time was had by all (honest).
